Our Story

Who we are.

Near Southside Montessori was born from the same shared vision that founded Fairmount Montessori: the belief that young children deserve thoughtful, trustworthy, and high-quality early education rooted in respect for the whole child. Created by parents and educators in response to limited options and long waitlists in Fort Worth, our schools exist to give families a place where children are truly seen, supported, and nurtured.

Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, our classrooms offer a rich, play-based learning environment for children from infancy through age five. Carefully prepared spaces, low teacher-to-student ratios, and hands-on materials encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence at each child’s own pace. We believe children flourish through meaningful work, and we are honored to walk alongside families during these foundational early years. Through our partnership with Broadway Baptist Church, we are strengthening our commitment to community, ensuring that Near Southside Montessori becomes not only a school, but a supportive, connected place for families to grow.

Ms. Emily

“Ms. Emily,” a lifelong Fort Worth resident and mother of three, earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas Wesleyan University and completed her Montessori certification in 2020.

In addition to years of hands-on classroom experience in Montessori learning environments, she also holds a Preschool Directorship License from the State of Texas, as well as her Master’s Degree in Education Administration. “Ms Emily” has dreamed of creating a preschool that blends meaningful education with authentic connection.

The development of the Near Southside Montessori schools is the culmination of that dream—a warm, welcoming space where all young children are encouraged to explore, create, grow, and belong.
